Which was worse – Keane’s tackle on Haaland or Thatcher’s tackle on Mendes?

All this talk about bad tackles prompted me to go back and watch Roy Keane’s revenge-challenge on Alfie Haaland (which ended Haaland’s career). It was a disgraceful tackle and 100% premeditated. But was it as bad as Ben Thatcher’s mindless charge into Pedro Mendes? Watch Keane’s tackle below and let me know what you think…

    I reckon Keane’s was worse. The only time he looks at the ball is after he’s jobbed the fella. His focus is totally on the other player and he’s only ever going for the knee, it’s really evil. Still think it’s pretty funny the commentator banging on about Ellery. Like he had a choice to make and decided to pick on Man U!

    Keanes tackle did not end his career! it was his other knee that forced him out, get their facts right first mate
    Thatchers is worse as it was to the head and could have cause a lot more problems that it did

    Dan, it’s not a stone-cold fact that it was Haaland’s other knee – it was merely claimed on a website that it was the other knee, but in my opinion Keane’s challenge was certainly a contributory factor.
