Untitled_30The BBC’s latest football columnist (and budding literary critic), Bolton skipper Kevin Nolan, has revealed he is a big fan of player autobiographies. With Ashley Cole’s book currently the hot topic for discussion, Nolan has stood by the would-be authors among his fellow professionals.

He said: "It seems there are a lot of books by players coming out lately and, to be honest, I am one of the first down the shop to buy them. I think they serve a good purpose in giving fans an insight into what players are really like on a day-to-day basis. People sometimes have ideas about a player, which can be totally wrong and which perhaps a book can help to put right."
