A few conclusions drawn from last night’s Champions League heavyweight clash:

Barca’s bright-orange/gold away kit is nasty.
2 Ronaldinho needs a haircut. Right now he’s like Samson in reverse – the longer his hair gets, the worse he plays. And ditch the terry-towelling hairband too. Not cool.
3 Is there a less athletic-looking football superstar than Lionel Messi?
4 Much more of this and Andriy Shevchenko will end up on a one-way train to Siberia. His form last night exemplified his season so far – always in the right place at the wrong time. Unlike team-mate Didier Drogba, who was immense.
5 Khalid ‘The Cannibal’ Boulahrouz is going straight into my fantasy team. Every time I’ve seen him for Chelsea, he’s looked classy. Last night, he kept Ronaldinho in his pocket and never let him out.
6 Did you see Frank Rijkaard’s suit! Not only was it very shiny, but it had a huge sponsor’s logo plastered on the back of it. Amazing.
7 Barca really miss Samuel Eto’o and Henrik Larsson. When Eidur Gudjohnsen is your main striker, you know you’re in trouble.

I was expecting so much more from Barcelona. Aside from Messi making Cole look like a three legged dog they really didn’t seem to threaten much. Ronaldinho seemed much more interested in explaining the laws of the game to the official rather than playing. Credit to Boularouz he was fantastic, a great signing and a good replacement for Willie Gallas.
