Nike never stops in its quest to find new ways to sell you its shoes and sportswear. Its advertising and marketing divisions are huge machines, relentlessly moving forwards in a bid to obliterate the opposition – Adidas, Reebok et al. Its latest wheeze is called ‘Join the Chain’, a website which allows footballers around the world to submit short videos of themselves making a pass (after a few fancy Nike-esque tricks, if you’re into that sort of thing). The videos are then stitched together to make one giant passing move. Clever, huh. There are more than 600 players in the chain at time of writing, and the video is more than an hour long.
