mu15.jpgAre Real Madrid really prepared to splash out £54m on Cristiano Ronaldo, as reported in the Guardian today? That is a monstrous transfer fee, not to mention the £150,000 a week salary that he would be looking to pocket. Is he really worth that much cash? And what happened to Real’s claim that the galacticos era was at an end?
There’s no doubt that CR is currently the hottest property in world football, but is his footwork that dazzling?

If united are losing their biggest asset, then that’s fine with me, no worries about the price. Although Madrid are going to need a lot more that ronaldo to solve their problems. In fact buying ronaldo is the worst thing they could do right now.

  2. Justin says:

United won’t sell Ronaldo this year. At the earliest, they would look to sell him after next season when he’ll have exactly two years remaining on his contract.
My guess is that they’ll have extended his contract by then and he’ll play with United for several more years.
I’m still not sure why he’d pick Real over Man Utd. United may be the best club in the world right now.

no, hes not worth that much. hes is great but they could buy two or three very high class players for that. i can see why he would want to move though. it seems all players outside of england dream of playing in madrid. they may be down now but they will be back, they always are. and come on, madrid vs. manchester, the living conditions are pretty good down in spain, and no british press to deal with. sign me up!

He is worth every last frickin penny. It’s like when Becks went there with the shirt sales he more or less paid for himself.
He would take spain by storm I’m sure. I say £54 million is not enough Real are loaded so make them pay £100 million, that is if he wants to go.

If I had Ronaldo I’d demand that much to be sure. We know Madrid have the cash, pin them to the wall like everyone does to Chelsea. Speaking of which where’s the endless whinging that arises whenver chelsea open their wallets?? Now that its Madrid using your money-muscle is ok?!?!

  6. dan says:

anything to get ronaldo off the epl. i’ll even chip in for real madrid

  7. Zaid says:

I honestly think he does worth that much. or more that that. Chelski bought Sheva from Milan for £30m and what does Chelski got from him? he is turning 30 and nearing the end of his career. Ronaldo still 21 and lot more still to come from him.

he’s worth 54m and then some and real & barca both know that…i read the other day that the same rumours are surfacing again, but i don’t think anyone is falling for it: how many times have we heard this one? besides, ronaldo has publicly said he’s happy at united. i think that if he was going to leave he would have done so after that ridiculous nonsense about him getting rooney sent off at the WC, not now that he’s enjoying a lot of success at united!?
