da%20Silva.jpgArsenal have made their first attempt to replace Thierry Henry by snapping up Croatia striker Eduardo da Silva from Dinamo Zagreb for an undisclosed fee. You will probably best remember the 24-year-old as the player – other than Gary Neville – who scored in Croatia’s victory over England in the Euro 2008 qualifier last October.
The Brazilian-born striker has seven goals in 12 international appearances for Croatia. He will challenge Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin van Persie and youngster Nicklas Bendtner for a starting place at the Emirates. Here he is scoring a record-breaking 34 goals in the Croatian league last season

16.25 million sheets on this guy? His ability to score from rebounds and from offside positions is remarkable. That must have sealed the deal. Well done the Arse.

  2. Clasher says:

Well, at least Wenger showed that he cares about scoring from the box not only how many passes inside his team will make..
    But 16mln.. damn!

  3. Seb says:

The goals in the video are not really impressive. But hopefully he is the kind of player Arsenal has been lacking. One who can finish the countless chances. But keep in mind that the marking in the Prem isn’t so horrendous as in this Bulgarian League!

  4. Sanj says:

The £16.5million is rubbish. We’re getting him for £7.5m. Looks very impresive. Hopefully he might shoot once in a while too!:-)

  5. hi! great blog! can we exchange link, please?

    it’s actually the croatian league.
although not an arsenal fan, i actually think this is a very good signing. this guy’s young (like everyone else at arsenal) and got potential.
(btw he’s also one of the often wanted players in the football manager game…but i hope that’s not why wenger bought him…)

Heres an idea for the next shit lookalike Da Silva and Prince. Seriously they have a striking resemblence.
