The vote: Did Arsenal’s win at Aston Villa convince you that they can win the league this season?

78201693.jpgI didn’t expect Arsenal to get three points out of their trip to Villa Park this weekend. Martin O’Neill’s side came into the game full of confidence after their 4-0 win at Blackburn, and they would have fancied their chances at home to the league leaders. But in the first half, Arsenal destroyed them. Emmanuel Eboue and Gael Clichy were wonderful on the flanks, whilst Alexsander Hleb – how he has progressed since he first came to England – ensured that Cesc Fabregas wasn’t missed in the middle.
When Arsenal tick, they are a joy to watch, and play by far the prettiest football of any side in the Premier League. They stand up for themselves these days too – Villa tried to bully them physically, but it didn’t work.
Until this result, I doubted that Arsenal had the staying power to win the league. Now, I’m convinced they can do it, although the Goons will have to fight off a triple-pronged attack from Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool. All in all, this season is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and exciting since the Prem began.
