Arsenal (or ‘Arsenal B’ to completely truthful) ended their Champions League group stage campaign with a bit of a whimper, going down 3-1 to Olympiakos in Greece. Rafik Djebbour, David Fuster and Francois Modesto all did the business for Olympiakos while Yossi Benayoun scored Arsenal’s consolation on a night which was perfectly encapsulated by Vito Mannone’s bollock-drop par excellence…

Hands, Vito. HANDS!

Ah well, it mattered little in the end. The Gunners were through to the last 16 anyway and last night’s little blip only really served to show us what we were all startlingly aware of anyway – Arsenal’s reserves are a teensy bit on the pap side.

2 things bug me about arsenal. One, why didn’t they buy stekelenburg in the summer (or any other criminally underrated keeper for that matter); and why does the back line always insists on playing football?! I remember Dixon used to say that the defenders at arsenal used to train seperately most of the time. They should start doing this again, because judging by the first goal and the endless tick-tacking at the back, I don’t think they understand what they’re supposed to be doing.

Well, have you seen Arsenal’s number 1? He’s actually quality, not sure how many Arsenal matches you watch. I also think critiquing a patchwork B team defense is kind of a waste. They always have been training on their own for a while now.
