The likes of John Terry, Nile Ranger and well, many many more eejits haven’t done much for the image of the professional footballer in recent months. However, Arsenal’s Polish goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczeny, showed a rather better side of his profession recently in a north London restaurant.

Whilst dining out last week, Szczesny was recognised by a 20-strong children’s party sitting nearby. The 21-year-old happily posed for photos and signed autographs for the kids. However, as he was leaving, the Pole then picked up the tab for the whole party and left before anyone could thank him. What a gent.

Let’s ignore the fact that the party was for the daughter of a big advertising agency CEO, someone who probably didn’t need the financial helping hand.

Still, from now on folks, remember, if you see the lovely Mr. Szczesny in a restaurant near you, grab whatever kids you can and get in there quick smart – you may get a free meal out of it.
