Yesterday, UEFA saw fit to fine Porto the princely sum of €20,000 for their fans aiming monkey chants at Mario Balotelli not so very long ago – roughly half the even princely-er sum they charged Arsene Wenger (let alone the three-game ban) for having the nerve to question a few refereeing decisions.

What we have here is a leaked file, a top secret UEFA document: their utterly ridiculous disciplinary code and all corresponding fines…

Truly outstanding work from Arseblog. We sincerely hope to high heaven that it’s a spoof, but the sad fact of the matter is that we’re not 100% certain.

    Love it.

Too true. Sad fact is that the game seems to be run by idiots and bureaucrats who don’t understand or love the game enough. Yet those who have been involved in the game (played, coached, etc.) usually don’t have enough political nous to get into the organisations running the game.

Why didn’t UEFA punish Porto by making them play their next European match behind closed doors?

I know it was a minority who were making the chants but if it’s a paltry 20k fine then no-one gives a shit.

A more severe punishment that affects everyone would make everyone more determined to stamp the trouble out.

You know, like in school when the class got lines because of one or two twats…
