After battering an Indonesian “Dream Team” 7-0 only a few days ago, Arsenal registered another seven-goal haul against the Vietnamese national side on Wednesday, running out 7-1 winners in the My Dinh National Stadium.

French striker Olivier Giroud continued to stake his claim for a starting berth next season (despite the Suarez and Higuain rumours) by adding a hat-trick to the brace he bagged in Indonesia, with all three of his goals coming before the break.

In the second-half, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, England youth star Chuba Akpom (with a brace) and Ignasi Miquel all got on the scoresheet for the Gunners, with Vietnam’s consolation strike coming courtesy of Tran Manh Dung’s loopy effort.

While Arsene Wenger readies his cheque-book for one or two big-money signings, youngsters such as German trio Serge Gnabry, Thomas Eisfeld and Gedion Zelalem as well as Akpom all impressed in a comfortable win for the north Londoners.
