While Arsenal youngsters such as Serge Gnabry, Chuks Aneke and Chuba Akpom are enjoying a glamorous trip about the Far East with the big boys, some of the Gunners’ youngsters left behind faced Boreham Wood in a traditional pre-season friendly. The young Arsenal team included the likes of Brazilian wastrel Wellington Silva, Nico Yennaris and highly-rated playmaker Dan Crowley but still lost the game 3-0.

One of the three goals shipped by Steve Gatting’s young side was an extremely cheeky free-kick from Boreham Wood, with Luke Garrard picking up the ball before repositioning it just before Mario Noto fired it into the back of the Arsenal net. Would this have stood in a ‘proper’ game? Surely it was handball? What do you shower of eejits think?
