Arsenal’s slimmest of title hopes were kept alive on Saturday after the Gunners came from a goal down to earn a draw against Manchester City at the Emirates. The visitors were the much better side in the first period and were rewarded for their lightning quick counter-attacking play with a goal from the superb David Silvaafter Lukas Podolski had given the ball away.

However, after the break, the home side rallied, with midfielder Mathieu Flamini levelling the scores after good work from Podolski. Both sides then had chances to win the game but would ultimately have to settle for a draw, with Arsene Wenger no doubt the slightly happier of the two managers.

I am not a City fan but man for man they are clearly the best team in the premier but if they don’t wake up quickly they are going to throw the league title away to a Liverpool side that are heavily dependent on Suarez and Sturridge. When will teams realise that double marking or putting a big guy on Suarez and not playing a defence to high up the field and leaving themselves open to the pace of Sturridge is the way to neutralise them ?, once these players effectiveness is taken out the game they are useless their defence is dire and Gerrard in midfield has no pace left at all. City should go to Anfield and win the title if they believe in themselves but football is a funny game and confidence is the issue here, who will ultimately have enough of it to win what will almost certainly be the decider in 2 weeks time ?.
