DIABY

Poor old Abou Diaby, already injury prone before he made the move from Auxerre to Arsenal in January 2006, an infamous horror tackle from Sunderland’s Dan Smith has haunted his career with the Gunners. Each comeback from injury has ended in breakdown and after yet another serious injury last year, few would have expected the gifted midfielder to ever play again.

However, on Tuesday night the gangly French international got a good 45 minutes under his belt for Arsenal’s U21 side against Chelsea and apparently he felt fine after it too. Wouldn’t it be lovely if the unlucky player could actually kickstart his career properly in the weeks and months to come?

By the way, check out his knee these days (see below). Not a pretty sight!
