It may not have been the prettiest of performance from Arsenal at Turf Moor on Saturday, but in grinding out a 1-0 win, they extended their Premier League winning-streak to an impressive eight games.

The only goal of the game came after just 12 minutes, with Aaron Ramsey blasting home after efforts from Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil had been saved.

Burnley produced another trademark hard-running and disciplined display and dit heir best to get back into the game quickly after Ramsey’s goal. Both Ashley Barnes and Kieran Trippier tested David Ospina but after that the Clarets rarely threatened.

A major part of the Gunners’ superb form in 2015 has been midfielder Francis Coquelin, and against Burnley, the Frenchman produced another impressive display, breaking up the play and providing that all-important shield in front of the back-four.

Another impressive Arsenal performer in central midfield was Santi Cazorla and the Spaniard almost doubled his side’s advantage with a free-kick which whizzed past Tom Heaton’s post.

However, in the end, the one goal was enough to maintain Arsenal’s winning streak.

Arsene Wenger’s men went just four points behind leaders Chelsea after the win, albeit with the Blues having two games in hand. As for Sean Dyche and his charges, they remain two points away from safety.
