On a night of goalkeeping blunders in the Champions League, Arsenal’s Polish glovesman Wojciech Szczesny made a right mess of a speculative long-range shot in Roma’s Group E clash with BATE Borisov.
Somehow positioning himself way to the left of his goal, the Gunners loanee was caught totally off-guard by Filip Mladenovic’s long-range strike, which really should have been saved with ease.
Another former Gunner, Gervinho, did get on the scoresheet for Roma in the game, but ultimately the Giallorossi would lose the game in Belarus 3-2, which sees them bottom of their group after two games. But at least the mistake will make Arsenal’s David Ospina feel a little better about himself (possibly).
