Danny Welbeck’s last-gasp goal for Arsenal against Leicester at the weekend could prove pivotal in the race for the Premier League title, while it was also the kind of dramatic goal which can make even the most restrained of fans go a little bit mad. But for a certain unfortunate Scott Woods, those post-goal celebrations ultimately ended in a hospital visit.

Back from injury, and with only his third touch of the ball of the game, Welbeck’s header sent the Emirates’ crowd into a state of sheer joy. However, Mr. Woods celebrated so hard that he suffered a hernia and now needs an operation…

Speaking about the incident, the Arsenal fan said:

I was jumping around with my dad and hugging my dad. Felt under the weather on Monday and then had to go to hospital in the middle of the night last night.

After this I think I’m going to be taking it a bit easier for a while… Not sure the hernia was worth the 15 minutes of fame.

At least he doesn’t look too unhappy about the whole thing, does he?!
