Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has made the provisional England World Cup squad, according to a highly dubious quote in today’s Sun.

The Gunners boss is attributed as saying; “Fabio Capello has made the list and Walcott is on the list.”

The rag then goes on to speculate that Wenger spoke with his England counterpart, and Capello confirmed that Walcott has not only made the provisional list, but the 23-man cut for South Africa as well.

Fabio Capello is set to officially announce the first draft of his World Cup squad at Wembley tomorrow, so why he’d be chatting about it with a Premier League manager the day beforehand is anybody’s guess.

I’m going to go ahead and call ‘hogwash’ on this one.

  1. Ollie says:

Walcott is 100% certain to go to South Africa, imo. His pace alone guarantees him a place in the 23, and he does have experience of being at a WC finals, which Capello likes.

  2. tyler says:

Walcott is rubbish. Here’s hoping Capello is stupid enough to take him to South Africa.

  3. zola says:

WALCOT MUST BE IN THE SQUAD BECAUSE HE MADE A LOT OF CONTRIBUTION TO
THE TEAM AND HE WILL DO THAT AGAIN.
