With two goals already under his belt this season during his loan spell with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, Arsenal starlet Reiss Nelson has marked his England U21 debut with an audacious goal against Andorra.

Hosting the minnows of Andorra in their Euro qualifier at the Proact Stadium, England were already 5-0 up when Nelson netted his goal.

Everton’s Ademola Lookman, Brentford midfielder Ezri Konsa Ngoyo, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin (with a brace) and Liverpool’s Dominic Solanke had all got themselves on the scoresheet as Aidy Boothroyd’s charges, as expected, outclassed Andorra.

The 18-year-old Nelson came off the bench on 72, hitting the post before setting up Solanke to score.

Then, in injury time, the winger latched on to a Tom Davies’ pass in the box before executing a superb back-heeled flick which outfoxed Andorran ‘keeper Francisco Pires…

Quite a decent way to open your account for the U21s.

Andorra would concede one more before the end, via an own-goal, as England secured a thumping 7-0 win.

With Jadon Sancho enjoying an even better start to the season in the Bundesliga with Dortmund, it looks as though the German top-flight could well help push some prime young English talent onto the next level.
