I’d like to post up the final 23-man England squad in one article, but thanks to the ever-shambolic FA, there’s nowt but a painful drip drip drip of news and rumours. Just announce the bloody squad already! How hard can it be?

Anyway, the biggest story so far, by far, is the news that Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is NOT on the plane to South Africa. He received the bad news this morning whilst playing golf, apparently. Wonder how it affected his swing?

This must be a massive shock for Theo. Having been selected in 2006 by Sven via Arsene Wenger, you’d have put a lot of money on him progressing far enough to easily earn selection this time around, but sadly he hasn’t made anything like the progress we all hoped for. His very poor display in the first half against Japan would have convinced Capello to swing the axe.

Agree with the decision folks? As I said yesterday, I would have taken him, not because he is a good player but simply because he is capable of kicking arse on the counter-attack.

As an Arsenal fan I am am gutted. It shouldn’t be forgotten too that Walcott ripped through Barca’s defence a couple of times in the Emirates. Also he is a fantastic impact player. But I guess Capello needs someone who can play on the right and the left and that makes SWP the man

As an Arsenal fan I love that Theo won’t get buggered in SA. That means he can actually start next season with a good preseason behind him.

I agree with Ollie..Simply for the counter attacks..his speed is AMAZING for counter attacks…But in the other hand im form Los Angeles..Born and raised so there for ill be rooting for my home country and i gotta admit not having Theo on the England roster is sure to help the U.S in a big way…
    Thanx Capello

    Sorry Theo

thing is, he can finish pretty well but he can’t bloody pass, why doesn’t wenger try to convert him into a striker?

Theo, is soo over rated, simply because he is English..
Yes he is fast and dangerous on the counter attack.
His crossing and finishing is absolutely terrible…
    I am an Arsenal Fan
