In a story perfect for Pies’ fans, Aston Villa have created a special pie in honour of their captain, Stiliyan Petrov, who is battling leukaemia.

The cancer-battling pastry contains chicken, leek and Bulgarian kefta meatballs (as a nod to Stan) and a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of the pie will go towards the Cure Leukaemia charity.

The delicacy will be available at Villa Park during the Villans’ Premier League clash with Sunderland at the weekend.

Bulgarian schemer Petrov, 32, was diagnosed with acute Leukaemia in March and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in London.

Who ate all the pies? You should, if you’re going to the game on Saturday!
