Capital One Cup: Swindon Boss Paolo Di Canio Mocks Aston Villa With ‘You’re Going Down’ Gesture (Video)
By Chris Wright
After seeing his side get pipped 3-2 by a sketchy Aston Villa side in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night, Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio took to the pitch to show the home fans exactly what he though of the two teams on show – pointing to the Swindon end and giving the ‘thumbs up’ signal then pointing down to the Villa end and giving it the old Emperor Commodus schtick…
As well as claiming it was his side that looked like the Premier League outfit and Villa the League One side, Di Canio also said after the game that he was merely signalling that the home support had been more vocal and fervent than the Villa support all night, i.e, that Swindon had the better fans, but we’re not entirely sure whether we believe him on that front!
