Aston Villa 2-0 Cardiff City – Premier League – 9th November 2013

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Aston Villa v Cardiff City - Villa Park

Dutch wingman Leandro Bacuna netted a superb free-kick to fire the Villans to a deserved win against Cardiff on Saturday.

That goal came on 76 minutes after the home side had created a number of decent chances without making any of them count. Cardiff, on the other hand, struggled to threaten Brad Guzan’s goal although with the game entering its final stages, a draw looked on the cards. However, enter Bacuna, who curled home a superb effort to finally break the deadlock.

The Villans’ lead was doubled before the end by Libor Koazak, courtesy of a close-range header as Paul Lambert’s men ended their seven-hour goal-drought.
