Cardiff City 0-0 Aston Villa – Premier League – 11th February 2014
David Marshall has been kept very busy this season between the posts for Cardiff and on Tuesday night, the ‘keeper produced a superb performance to keep Aston Villa at bay and secure his side a point. Both sides came close to breaking the deadlock during the game, with Fraizer Campbell and Craig Noone both hitting the frame of the goal for the Bluebirds. While at the other end, Fabian Delph was denied by Marshall. However, the ‘keeper’s best save would come at the death, when he somehow managed to keep out Andreas Weimann’s close-range effort. The stalemate sees Villa stay mid-table and the Bluebirds second from bottom and two points from safety.
