Queens Park Rangers 2-0 Aston Villa – Premier League – 27th October 2014

A Charlie Austin brace secured a precious win for harry Redknapp’s QPR on Monday, a result which sees the west Londoners lifted off the bottom of the Premier League table.

Aston Villa started the better of the two sides but it was the hosts who would open the scoring on 17 minutes, when Austin powered home after being set up by Bobby Zamora. Austin then double his side’s advantage in the second period against a Villa side who once again failed to find a cutting edge.

Paul Lambert’s men have now gone 531 minutes of Premier League action without a goal as the face yet another arduous campaign. As for Harry’s Hoops, they go ahead of bottom-placed Burnley courtesy of those vital three points.
