Aston Villa 0-0 Crystal Palace – Premier League – 1st January 2015

In front of the watching Alan Pardew, Crystal Palace played out a rather dull encounter with Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Amidst the mediocrity of the clash, both sides did have chances to score, with Christian Benteke and Alan Hutton going close for the hosts and winger Yannick Bolasie hitting the crossbar for the Eagles. However, ultimately both sides would have to be content with a share of the spoils.

The point sees Paul Lambert’s Villa move into 12th, a place above Everton.  Palace, on the other hand, stay in the bottom three, one point from safety and leaving new boss Pardew with a mighty big task in the second-half of the season.
