Aston Villa have managed the frankly laughable feat of losing a behind-closed-doors friendly against their own Under-21 side.

According to Sky Sports, Remi Garde was forced to watch on as his senior players slumped to a 3-0 loss at Bodymoor Heath last Friday.

The ‘first team’ included regulars such as Brad Guzan, Alan Hutton, Ciaran Clark, Kieran Richardson, Ashley Westwood, Jordan Veretout, Idrissa Gueye, and Scott Sinclair.

While the reserve team did admittedly feature Leandro Bacuna and Jordan Ayew, the rest of the line-up consisted mainly of youth team understudies.

We’d suggest that you couldn’t make this stuff up but when it comes to the season Villa are having, it’s actually fairly standard stuff.

This only proves what most are saying, that with this group of players they wont win a raffle in the Championship.

  2. Danny says:

Why doesn’t Garde drop the whole 1st team and play the u21s on the weekend? What’s to lose? It might be a kick up the @rse for the senior pros…
