John Terry has been getting to know his new Aston Villa team-mates since calling time on almost 20 years of service at Chelsea and moving to the nation’s second city.

As is the case with most new recruits, club initiation for Terry involved the Blues’ legend ‘doing a turn’ for his fellow villans.

In front of his expectant team-mates, Terry took a relatively safe option, belting out Ben E. King classic ‘Stand By Me’ with an impressive amount of confidence, if not singing talent…

We’ve all seen a lot worse than that, to be fair, such as Granit Xhaka’s abysmal performance for his Arsenal team-mates last summer.

Although it’s all a bit tame, isn’t it?

Indeed, it’s a far cry from a young David Beckham tossing off over a Clayton Blackmore calendar at Manchester United. Halcyon days.

Just trying to decide what was worse: Xhaka’s singing or his performances last season…
