Protests, posters  and even banners in the air seem to have done little to undermine the Venky’s unwavering support for Blackburn’s beleaguered boss Steve Kean. Indeed, according to reports in today’s Daily Mirror, the Scot has signed a new and improved contract with the club (he’s already signed up until 2013) in a development which won’t have gone down too well amongst the majority of Rovers fans.

I guess there are two ways of looking at it – 1) The Blackburn Rovers owners are showing admirable belief in and patience with their manager in a footballing world where coaches are all too regularly sacked without being given a fair crack of the whip, or 2) The Venkys haven’t got a clue about football and will drag the club into the Championship.

Expect irate Rovers’ fans to hire a jumbo jet or two to fly over Ewood Park for the next home game.

So… If the owners sack the managers after just few months, the press says, managers ain’t given enuf time bla bla, if they keep the faith, the media says, the owners haven’t got a clue.
    Bah

  2. Archbishop Betty Snagcock says:

@Sameer: good managers like Allardyce that have showed that they can build a winning team by starting in the lower reaches and working their way up deserve a good amount of time

those that have never had a managers job and make a team play a hell of a lot worse when they take over the reigns do not.

  3. Sameer says:

It’s only 11 odd games! Media said similar things about the Christ hughton and Alan saga, but now when Newcastle does well, Alan suddenly becomes a ‘highly regarded’ English manager? Give Keane a break….

  4. reemaS says:

11 this season, but kean has already been in charge since last season and rovers have definitely played worse under kean as compared to the solid, if unspectacular performances under allardyce.

  5. Jim says:

Reema is right Sameer, Kean brought Rovers from safety to a survival sunday last season and has been awful this season. He’s been given too much time.

  6. Kevin Barry says:

If the Venky’s want Championship football that’s their decision, but they must stop insisting the fans back their mindless, inept stupidity!

  7. Andy says:

next home game Blackburn will be playing in an empty stadium
