On any other Premier League weekend Bolton clogger Paul Robinson‘s abhorent (and potentially ankle-shattering) ‘tackle’ on Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby would have been a much more prominent talking point. However, given the severity of the injury Bobby Zamora suffered against Wolves, it was generally ignored – or at least put on the back-burner.
It was a gormless, deliberate and down-right malicious challenge that threatened to seriously injure Diaby, so Robinson will probably be dismayed to hear that the French midfielder is expected to resume training next week after scans on his ankle injury revealed that he only suffered severe bruising (rather than a break) to the joint.
