With the Bundesliga currently ensconced on their mid-season break, Schalke 04 took the opportunity to send their players 1,000 metres below the surface of the Earth on a tour of the Auguste Victoria coal mine in Marl, Germany – what with the club originally being founded by miners back in 1904 and all.
