Bayern Munich have sent a platter of sausages to neighbouring club Ingolstadt as a thank-you for beating Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig back in December.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge promised to ply Ingolstadt with “a wagon load of weisswurst (a Bavarian white sausage) and wheat beer” if they managed to disrupt Leipzig’s momentum.

Lo and behold, Ingoldstadt pulled off a 1-0 home win on 10th December – a result that allowed Bayern to ascend to the top of the league after languishing in second for almost a month.

As such, Rummenigge duly delivered on his promise…

Bayern actually delivered enough sausage and pretzels to feed 80 members of Ingolstadt’s staff, with club executive Harald Gartner telling Bild:

There was also wheat beer for the club officials. We showed we’re good neighbours.

Blatant bribery and corruption via the medium of delicious Bavarian delicacies.

Shocking.
