AC Milan 2-0 Barcelona – Champions League – 20th February 2013

Two ex-Portsmouth stars netted the goals which produced a rather surprising result at the San Siro on Wednesday night, with Milan shooting down the mighty Barcelona.

With Mario Balotelli cup-tied, the Rossoneri started with Giampaolo Pazzini up front, supported by Stephan El Shaarawy.

The visitors struggled to produce too many clear-cut chances as the home side defended with discipline and eventually opened the scoring themselves just before the hour-mark, courtesy of Ghana international and former Pompey midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng. Then, with just nine minutes left, another former Fratton Park mdifielder, Sulley Muntari, volleyed home to secure a fantastic 2-0 win for the Italians.

While Milan still face quite a game at the Nou Camp, the victory gives them the edge in this fascinating tie. Messi my arse.

  1. Jarren says:

I fully expect Milan to park every bus in Spain in front of their net.

You know what? I don’t care.

If Milan can survive in the Nou Camp and make it through, every non-Barcelona fan will celebrate.

Watching Barcelona is literally like watching paint dry.

So come on Milan, make it through the 2nd leg and give football fans something exciting to watch!

  2. Sultan says:

I agree with Jarren every little thing :)

  3. the karate suit says:

that camera man is a legend/pervert — and yeah, i’m glad Barca are getting knocked out early… Jarren is right, they are the most boring team on the planet now

  4. Chris says:

Sorry, what was that about your arse?

  5. Giancarlo says:

Fucking right @Jarren! I’m a Milanista but I really love to hate Barcelona and all their garbage. Great, have 70% possession. It’s easy when you make 3 foot passes in the center circle. Messi who? Barca who? :)

  6. Objectively says:

They are forced to play that way. They wouldn’t play it if opponents played normally. Last time Real Madrid tried to play normally, it enden in 5-0 Barca victory. What do you all think about that?

  7. Giancarlo says:

What’s normal? Normal is a subjective word. Tactics and strategy are part of the game and they vary from game to game, opponent to opponent.

  8. Jarren says:

@Objectively: I think that Barcelona are the most boring team I have ever watched.

They are not “forced” to play in any particular style.

They CHOSE to play their style, knowing full well it results in sending opponents to the verge of rigor mortis.

To claim that it’s the opposition’s fault actually says more about Barcelona than it does about who they’re playing against.

No one wants to see a team dominate with 70-90% possession.

    That’s not a game.
