Atletico Madrid 4-1 AC Milan (Aggregate 5-1) – Champions League Last 16 2nd Leg – 11th March 2014
A brace from Spanish/Brazilian hitman Diego Costa fired Atletico Madrid into the last eight of the Champions League after his side emphatically beat Milan at home on Wednesday night.
Turkish winger Arda Turan and Raul Garcia were also on the scoresheet against a Milan side who had their moments (Kaka leveled the scores on the half-hour mark), but overall the Spaniards were well worth the 5-1 aggregate victory.
While the La Liga side head into the quarter-finals, Italy have no sides in the last eight, a fact which highlights how the once mighty have fallen.
