Over in ‘the other’ Champions League quarter-final first leg last night, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid (who were meeting in Europe for the first time ever) slugged out a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou; Diego Ribas putting Atleti ahead in the 56th minute after coming on as a first-half substitute with an absolutely rocket of a shot from 30-odd yards out…

Indeed, Diego’s strike was so impressive that Barcelona coach Tata Martino admitted after the game that he struggled not to celebrate when it flew in past his ‘keeper!

Barca then toiled away and finally nabbed themselves an equaliser 15-ish minutes later when a fine pass from Andres Iniesta cleaved the Atleti defence in twain and Neymar popped a curling shot past Thibaut Courtois…
