Pep Guardiola and co. may have romped to the 2013/14 Bundesliga title, but against Real Madrid on Tuesday evening in Munich the European champions were well and truly battered by the Spaniards.

Two early headed goals from Sergio Ramos put Madrid 3-0 up on aggregate and basically killed the tie, leaving the home side to try in vain to break down a superbly organised yet dangerous Madrid side. Cristiano Ronaldo made it 3-0 on 34 minutes after a superb counter-attack before scoring again late on with a clever free-kick to make it a record 16 Champions League goals this season.

The only downside for Carlo Ancelotti and his Madrid side was the booking for Xabi Alonso which sees the former Liverpool man miss out on the final although with the likes of Asier Illarramendi, centre-half Pepe or even the almost fit Sami Khedira in the squad, the impact should be minimal. As for Pepe Guardiola, he has much to dissect.
