The seemingly ageless Francesco Totti is now the oldest goalscorer in the history of European football (surpassing Ryan Giggs’ previous record) by becoming the first player ever to score in the Champions League past his 38th birthday after netting Roma’s equaliser against Manchester City at the Etihad last night.

With Joe Hart slipping slightly as he scampered out to close down the onrushing Totti (you can’t really see it on this GIF), the veteran Giallorossi forward seized upon the extra yard afforded to him and shunted a delightful little chip past the sprawling City ‘keeper and inside the far post…

This coming after City well and truly jinxed themselves on Twitter before the game…
