Hands up. This goal isn’t entirely random given that Dimitar Berbatov is scheduled to turn out against Arsenal (the club he always seemed destined to play for) with Monaco in the last 16 of the Champions League tonight – but it is, we can assure you, most definitely great.

Coming in the group stages of the 2004/05 Champions League, Berbatov’s late goal against Roma in the Stadio Olimpico may just mark the first time the wider world saw the Bulgarian go “full Berba” – at least on the big stage.

Completely dissolving Roma centre-half Traianos Dellas into a puddle of useless flesh-coloured goo with a gossamer-light flick, 22-year-old Berbatov then made ‘keeper Carlo Zotti look similarly insignificant by applying a floaty lobbed finish to match…

Touched by some kind of footballing god, that man.
