Poor old Pep Guardiola, who, on Tuesday night, saw his final chance of leading Bayern Munich to Champions League glory snuffed out by a well-drilled Atletico Madrid side.
Victorious boss Diego Simeone, on the other hand, was once again at his theatrical best, even giving one of his own staff a meaty slap towards the end.
An enthralling second leg in Munich saw a first-half Xabi Alonso free-kick level the scores at 1-1 on aggregate. Thomas Muller then missed a penalty before French forward Antoine Griezmann scored an early second-half goal to put Atletico back in front in the tie.
Robert Lewandowski made it 2-1 on the night on 74 minutes before Fernando Torres missed a spot-kick. However, the Spaniards stood firm to secure a fabulous (2-2) win on away goals. Although the final minutes were rather nervous for the typically animated Simeone…

Simeone and co. will now face either fierce rivals Real Madrid or Manchester City in the final. As for Guardiola, he’ll leave Germany having reached seen his Bayern side dumped out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage in three consecutive seasons.
And what if Manuel Pellegrini leads the Citizens to Euro-glory in the meantime!?
