Love him or loathe him, Cristiano Ronaldo is one hell of a perma-tanned, egotistical world-class footballer.

On Wednesday night at the Bernabeu, the Portuguese mega-uber-superstar fired home a suoerb late free-kick to set his side up for a dramatic comeback win against boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.

Bruno César gave the visitors a shock lead just after the break and the Portuguese side looked set to pull off a very unlikely win.

However. on 89 minutes, Ronaldo stepped up to curl home a cracking free-kick. However, despite the importance of the goal, the great man refused to celebrate against his old club…

Not only did that fine free-kick get Los Merengues back on level terms, but it also ignited a comeback from the reigning champions which saw Alvaro Morata score a winner in injury-time.

I guess that’s why they pay Cristiano the very, very, very big bucks!

Don’t you mean… Sporting Portugal? They have a official name, and its been that way for a long time, I’m sure its not hard to remember.

  2. X says:

harder than you tink mr pernickety, it’s Sporting Clube de Portugal or Sporting CP, generally just “Sporting” though
