Having to cough up as much as 100 euros (£88) to watch Bayern Munich’s Champions League game with Anderlecht at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, visiting fans decided to protest the hefty ticket prices by throwing fake money on the pitch during the game.
During the protest, play was temporarily stopped while the the fake money was cleared from the pitch.
According to Bayern officials, they had taken 30% off the cost of the tickets, meaning they should have only cost 70 euros.
However, this isn’t the first time the Bayern faithful have made their thoughts known about ticket prices, throwing toilet roll onto the Emirates pitch during their clash with Arsenal in March.
As for the game itself, Jupp Heynckes’ side ran out 2-1 winners, with French international Corentin Tolisso bagging the winner after Robert Lewandowski and then Sofiane Hanni had scored.
Courtesy of the win, Bayern are guaranteed to finish second in Group B, behind PSG.
