Bayern Munich fans continued their ongoing protest against UEFA and corporate influence by bombarding Neymar with fake €500 bank notes during Tuesday night’s game against PSG at the Allianz Arena.

As the Brazilian striker jogged over to take a corner in the first half, he was greeted with a brief shower of notes from supporters stationed in the front few rows…

It later emerged that the notes in question were all custom-printed, complete with an image of Neymar’s crying face in the middle of them.

Fans of the team with the sixth highest wage bill in world football chastising the team with the second highest wage bill in world football there.

The Bayern supporters also unfurled a banner to bemoan the UEFA sanctions levelled against them for having the temerity to protest – again by hurling fake money around – against the vast €100 ticket prices for their previous Champions League tie against Anderlecht in Brussels.

Still paid full whack to get in though, didn’t you chaps?

  1. Beano says:

If anything the fans of PSG should be the ones protesting, as one should probably expect much better returns from the 2nd highest payroll in the world.

    • Phil Leotardo says:

      @Beano

Check out his stats mate. They are impressive. I don’t think PSG fans could ask for anything more.

      • Beano says:

Talking team overall. 2nd highest payroll in the world should be annually winning every trophy domestically (Bayern does this with a lower payroll and in a far more competitive league) and at least making the semi-finals in Europe every season. PSG has shown that while they can dominate Ligue 1, their hold isn’t ironclad, and they still have a long way to go in European competitions

  2. Bruno says:

We have a term here in Brazil to mock rich people with this kind of behaviour. We call them “solicialista de iPhone”

Something like “Socialist with an iPhone”. That’s more or less like these Bayern supporters, no?

      • Hey says:

Of course it is. Half of the crowd consists of tourists and they don’t even know if the ball is round or not.

Plus, they sign “Seven Nation Army” when the team scores… what a bunch of idiots.

        Ohhhh Ohh Ohhh Ohhhhh Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

        Fuck Bayern

        • PetrovskyKSC says:

I think Bayern’s ultra grouos are actually pretty well-behaved and sensitive towards societal issues. I personally share a lot of their points of view for sure. Moreover, it is far from being true that the guys in that section of the stadium are tourists or anything. Tourists would never care that much about ticket prices (elastic demand pattern asoasf)
These people in the video make for one of the few things i like about the club.

  3. Geraldo says:

Get over it – it’s merely banter. And a lot less offensive than Munich, Hillsborough or “10 German Bombers” songs…

  4. Phil Leotardo says:

I have to say, even though I’m not a fan of the Qatari-owned PSG, and that’s a euphemism, I find Neymar’s coolheadedness admirable.

This guy has been the target of off- and on-field verbal and physical attacks for years now, and I’ve rarely seen him get mad. His behavior has been fantastic, how many of us would manage to keep calm??

  5. JP says:

…And he cried all the way to the bank.
