Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu: I was racially abused by my own fans

After Rangers’ admittedly awful performance against Unirea last night, Maurice Edu – who didn’t even play for the Scots – posted this update on his Twitter profile:

There’s surely no reason the American would make something like this up (‘smh’ means ‘Shake My Head’, by the way).

Depressing stuff and a terrible night all-round for Scottish football. Why do a few idiots spoil it for all the decent fans?

    Rangers’ decent fans are in the extreme minority. The rest are flag waving BNP arseholes.
