Not only is he an incredibly promising defender, but Ipswich youngster Tyrone Mings is also a thoroughly good egg. As of today, this is now official.

The 22-year-old (who has been linked with a move to Arsenal on several occasions) published an image of a chat conversation between him and his mother on Instagram, in which it transpired that the young left-back had paid off all of his mumma’s debt.

After his mum thanked him, Mings replied saying she “deserved every penny”…

How decent of him. The Southampton academy certainly have a knack of not only producing fine young players, but fine young citizens also.

With that in mind, this isn’t the first time Mings had demonstrated his generosity on social media – far from it, in fact.

Last July he bought a brand new shirt for an Ipswich fan who had purchased a replica jersey with the defender’s old squad number on the back…

A little time before that, Mings also offered to provide a couple of match tickets for an Ipswich fan who was unable to go and watch his side play due to monetary restraints…

Mings also…err…

Oh well, three out of four ain’t bad.

    Well, nice of him, but isn’t that the first thing almost everyone would do when there’s $$$ on the bank account?!

    @Sherman the German: PRECISELY.

    How many wealthy young footballers have done the same thing, only not published it for everyone to see? Quite a few, I’d wager.

    While it’s all very nice, it smacks of “HEY EVERYONE LOOK HOW GREAT I AM” when you make it so clearly public.

  3. Joe says:

    Not that he likes to talk about it..

    Reminds me of the “Anonymous Donor” Curb Your Enthusiasm. Right, this is nice of him, but I think anyone with darn good money would help out their parents. I would! Not a fan of social media at all, so a little disappointed to see him putting this out there in that fashion.

    Also, Kim Kardashian?! Sorry, but fake boobs, lips, azz, etc. are all awful! Real women rule. Can’t stand fake stuff, can’t stand narcissists who pay for plastic surgery, can’t stand dudes who are turns on by plastic women.

    Wow, lots of bitter cynics here. He’s young and grew up in the social media world that some of us did not. He’s a product of his environment. Doesn’t change the fact that he is doing good things for real people. Sad you aren’t able to just appreciate that in the world of overpaid, overly entitled footballers, there still are a few good eggs.
