It’s a shame that the sordid John Terry affair has detracted somewhat from Hull’s terrific performance – Phil Brown’s side were great, especially pocket gypsy Stephen Hunt. Overall it’s a great result for the title race, and especially for Arsenal and Man Utd fans.

How much has the Terry Tabloid nonsense affected Chelsea’s players? It’s impossible to gauge. JT, Lampsy and co. were below-par at the KC Stadium but who knows if Terry’s situation played any part in that? Pundits often talk about clubs being destabilised by such incidents, but Fergie at Man Utd has shown that they can also act as a positive, unifying trigger, by promoting a siege mentality.

After a tough game at Burnley on Saturday, a trip to Hull three days later was always going to be tough for Chelsea, and so it proved. On the plus side for the leaders, Didier Drogba scored his first goal since returning from Angola, which cancelled out Steven Mouyokolo’s 30th-minute header. Drogba will be a vital presence if Chelsea are to wrest the Prem trophy from Man United’s clutches.
