Advantage Mourinho? Not really – Chelsea dominated for long periods and deserved a draw at least. Inter played a decent match and were full of running, but I didn’t see anything from Serie A’s best team to convince me that they are a better team than Chelsea, even when Chelsea are without the likes of Ashley Cole and Michael Essien.

Chelsea sorely missed Essien and a regular left-back last night but even then they more than matched Inter on the Italians’ home turf. John Terry’s form – he looks distracted, understandably – is a concern though, both for Chelsea and England. He was turned inside out by Diego Milito for the opening goal and generally looks off the pace. Nicolas Anelka too, is struggling to regain the excellent form he showed in the first half of the season.

The Special One says he’s now confident of winning the tie – “Mourinho doesn’t lose at Stamford Bridge” – but I wouldn’t bet 20p on the outcome. That’s how close it is at the virtual half-time stage. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Chelsea match Inter’s 2-1 win, thereby sending the tie into extra-time.

Who do you fancy to go through?
