West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Chelsea – Premier League – 11th February 2014
League leaders Chelsea missed the chance to go four points clear at the top of the table on Monday night, with Victor Anichebe’s late equaliser nabbing a share of the points for West Brom. Branislav Ivanovic had opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time, as the visitors creating numerous chances. However, Chelsea’s failure to make their dominance count would come back to haunt them, with West Brom improving as the second-half progressed and ultimately netting an equaliser, courtesy of sub Anichebe who headed home from a Saido Berahino corner. The hosts then pushed for a winner but in the end the points were shared. Chelsea now find themselves two points clear of Arsenal, who play tomorrow while Pepe Mel’s charges move out of the drop-zone.
