As you may have heard, Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres assembled an entire whinny (the correct collective noun for a group of actors) of Hollywood’s elite for a gigantic “selfie” photo at the award show last night, featuring the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Brad and Angie Pitt, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep and a pop-up Kevin Spacey.
The photo went on to shatter the Twitter record for Retweets (previously held by Barack and Michelle Obama) when it was shared over 2.5million times in the space of a few minutes, causing Twitter to temporarily melt down into a puddle of internet goo.
Anyway, thanks to the quick handiwork of a pithy chap named @TheFoyeEffect, the obligatory ‘John Terry joins the celebration’ version of Ellen’s photo is now upon us…
Might we say, a majestic spin on the meme that wouldn’t die.
