And there we were thinking Darius Henderson’s manually-executed equaliser for Forest against Boro last night was blatant!

Step forward, Newcastle U18 urchin Olivier Kemen, who outdid Henderson all ends up in the “outrageous cheating” department during his side’s FA Youth Cup tie against Cheslea’s youth string last night by scoring a 28th-minute equaliser with the most brazen handball you’re ever likely to see…

)

Here’s the official description of Kemen’s nefarious handiwork, as taken from the match report published on Newcastle’s club site:

“After…Newcastle [won] a free kick in a dangerous position, Olley floated over a perfect delivery for Olivier Kemen to glance beyond Mitchell Beeney in the 28th minute.

“There was a suggestion of handball but referee James Adcock spotted no infringement.”

Riiiiight. There was a “suggestion of handball” in approximately the same way this 8-tonne whale carcass was blown to Kingdom Come by a “suggestion of dynamite”.

And we ask you: What kind of shameless mental gymnastics do you need to be capable of to run off celebrating such an (excuse the pun) underhanded goal as if you’d just plonked a volley into the top corner from 35 yards?

Incredible and disgusting all at once. Incredigusting.

Thankfully, you’ll be glad to learn that Chelsea went on to win the game 3-2.

    The violation certainly should have been seen, but how sanctimonious of the broadcasters who were not certain the ball was handled until they saw a slow-motion replay.

    Good god that is horrible.

    But not nearly as horrible as that whale video, Chris.

    Horrible but incredibly cool, that is!

    What were the bystanders thinking? “Oh, it’ll be fine. This massive piece of rotting meat will simply disintegrate in a cloud of dust. There’ll be NO CHANCE of massive chunks of putrid innards raining down on our heads”

    But yes, from the safety of my screen and 30 years after the event I enjoyed the boom boom.
