Chelsea – Watford – FA Cup 3rd Round – 4th January 2015

Three second-half goals earned Chelsea a hard-fought win at home to Watford on Sunday.

The Hornets were organised in the first-half and frustrated the Blues, who were without the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic. For the second-half, Jose Mourinho sent on Diego Costa and Willian for Oscar  and Andre Schurrle and two Brazilian subs gave the hosts a much-needed injection of attacking power.

However, it was Watford who went close to scoring, with Troy Deeney’s shopt was deflected just wide of the Chelsea goal. Still, the Blues would ultimately open the scoring, with Willian firing home just before the hour-mark, courtesy of a superb effort. Loic Remy and then Kurt Zouma secured the win for the Blues with the visitors unable to find a reply.
